McAfee VPN Fix

Preface

Because McAfee blocks the Cisco popup, this is how to whitelist Cisco AnyConnect in McAfee.

Process

  • Find the McAfee Security App on your computer.

  • If you are opening the app from your taskbar, right click on the icon. You will want to select the Open Pc Security option. In the below example, this is “Open McAfee Small Business - PC Security”

  • In popup that appears, select the four dots icon on the left side of window

  • Select the Firewall App

  • Select “Internet Connections for Programs”

  • Scroll to the bottom and select Add

  • Select Browse

  • Navigate to

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
  • Select the acwebhelper executable and click “Open”

  • Set the Settings exactly as shown in screenshot below, and click Save

  • Close and relaunch Cisco AnyConnect

  • You should now be able to sign in using Google SSO.
